"Nature Signs", Community Park Sculpture Garden, Louisville, CO, 2010

"Nature Signs" includes 16 inkjet prints mounted on aluminum and installed on a cast aluminum directional traffic sign post. The piece was created for the City of Louisville Colorado's downtown sculpture garden. "Nature Signs" is 10 ft high and 6 ft in circumference at the top.

The images were sourced from photographs printed and painted on, they are digitized then printed and mounted on aluminum. The work plays with the words "nature signs" and the format "directional signs", both suggesting direction and information. The piece, however, provides neither, and mirrors our own confusion regarding nature - how to protect it, and what trade offs to make.
