"By the Dripping Tree - Whispering Pause", detail, 2011

"By The Dripping Tree" includes a number of collaged sculptural paintings designed for site-specific flexibility. The pieces are sourced from hundreds of individual paintings of water, which are digitally arranged, manipulated, enlarged, and mounted on aluminum panels. “Whispering Pause”, “Salty Wine” and “Curdled Tango” have been exhibited at numerous venues, each exploring the magic of water when there is too little or too much.

The aluminum columns of “Whispering Pause”, “Salty Wine” and “Curdled Tango”, are lush yet surface-less and unreachable. They reflect the plush mediated presentations we are used too, but actually possess little resemblance to the natural world. They represent both what we want and what we are missing.
